They contain around 50 times more calcium than other insects or worms, which is important for maintaining strong bones and for egg development, making them an excellent supplement. They also aid the absorption of phosphorus, another vital mineral for the birds in your garden, and they are high in protein and fat, making them very nutritious and palatable. Dried Calciworms should be fed all year round – particularly in winter and spring, during nesting season.
